I was out in Bicester this morning and as I was working through my “to do” list I spotted a new cafe bar on the main shopping street - Sheep Street. I wasn’t in a rush, and the weather was awful, so I decided to pop in to shelter from the torrential rain.
First impressions of Torino Lounge were great. I think it helped that it was so quiet, but there were plenty of tables and lots of space around them (always handy with a pushchair), and the staff member on the door was very friendly.

I chose a table, and after a quick look at the menu decided I’d have a spot of brunch. All tables are numbered, you order at the bar, and everything is brought to your table. I had a lovely chat with the man who served me at the bar, and he told me it was their first day - which I hadn’t realised. That meant the doors had only been open about 30 minutes when I arrived.
There were plenty of high chairs available, and lots of colouring books, crayons, pencils and games boxes for kids, family’s or even just groups.
Food wise I just went for some toast for my son (choice of white or brown bread; butter, jam or marmalade) and I went for a bacon butty (choice of white or brown bread; streaky or back bacon; you can also add an egg) and a Flat White. I loved the fact that there were choices available, even around such a simple order. There’s a water station on the bar so we just grabbed a couple of glasses from there. The food arrived quickly and it was good - I mean, it was toast and a bacon sandwich so not much room for error!

I instantly loved the interior of the Lounge and it just had a really nice vibe. The food and coffee was good. The staff were all so friendly, helpful and accommodating. There were highchairs available and a spacious baby changing area. It can be quite difficult to find family friendly cafes and restaurants so I am very happy to have discovered Torino Lounge. I really hope this place does well and I'll definitely be back. Thumbs up all round.
