KidzZoo, Bicester │Review

I haven’t visited a soft play centre with the kids for quite awhile, but today my older daughter was at school so I decided to take my 3.5 year old son somewhere to burn off some energy.

KidzZoo is a small business that opened in Bicester in October 2019. It’s a soft play and party venue, which also hosts additional activities such as school holiday activities, a board game café, SEN sessions, and Kidslingo French and Spanish sessions.

We visited KidzZoo Bicester on a Friday morning, arriving at around 9.30am, and there was only one other child there. The soft play started filling up a bit around 10am, but it still wasn’t overcrowded.

The member of staff who served me was really lovely. We paid the £4.50 entry (bargain!), signed in, and off we went. My son is 3 and a half, and the play frame was fine for him to play on for a couple of hours. I would have thought that older children would probably get bored reasonably quickly though as the equipment is on the smaller side.

The equipment appeared to be in great condition and very clean, although I must admit to not getting a particularly close look. I think this is my first soft play experience where I've not had to clamber into the equipment myself to rescue a stuck small person.  Result! As my son was able to sort himself, I chose a table where I could pretty much see him at all times and took out my book. Word of warning...it was cold! My son seemed fine, but just sitting to watch I didn't take off my coat and could have done with wearing another layer of clothing...so wrap up if you visit in winter!

KidzZoo is no match for the much bigger soft play centres, but for little ones (I'd say under 4s) who are local, it’s spot on. For the price, and the convenience of the location, we'll definitely be back.
