Blogmas 2017 - Day 7: Puzzling times

On the whole I’m not a particularly competitive person, but I do enjoy a family board game. I’m very much looking forward to the year we can abandon the kids Orchard Toys games (however fantastic they might be for the littlies) and have festive rows over Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly or, my personal favourite, Bananagrams.

I know it's not a game as such, but I do enjoy a festive jigsaw too. I don't know what it is about the darker, colder nights that makes me want to chuck on some cosy clothes and crack out the 1000 piece puzzles, but I find it pretty therapeutic.

We've already completed a couple this winter, and I have just started on a third after we borrowed a few off my parents. Although Charlotte obviously doesn't have the attention span to do a 1000 piece jigsaw by herself (if only!) she does like helping, and seems to have a pretty good eye for finding particular pieces.

Benjamin mostly likes spreading the pieces everywhere, but he does try to copy and earlier he was putting his own pieces onto his own section of the new jigsaw board we invested in this year...no more giant pieces of cardboard for me!

And, of course, they both like to get involved in the best part - breaking the finished puzzle up!
